It is my pleasure to be a part of a team that takes such pride in offering healthy, diverse and nutritional choices to our staff, students and visiting guests. Each day, I look forward to meeting our guests and ensuring that our food selections meet the needs of our customers at both our Welland and Niagara-On-The-Lake campuses.

With over 25 years’ experience in corporate and education environments, I am proud to have joined the amazing team here at Niagara College.

Our services include Tim Hortons, Subway, Pizza Pizza, marketGRILL, Chef Insprired and On The Go, grab and go options. I welcome all our patrons to come and experience our dining locations.

Steve enjoys working in such fantastic surroundings with a phenomenal service team. As a Food Service Manager it is his job to ensure that every students dining experience at our Niagara-On-The-Lake Campus is of the highest caliber.

As a hospitality professional of 20 years, Steve has had the opportunity to work throughout Canada and the United Kingdom in many different hospitality and service fields. As we continue to evolve as an industry, Steve believes that the one person you need to listen to is your guest, and that’s what we are here to do.

As an administrative professional with over 15 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry, office administration and marketing, Kate provides a vital role in the daily operations for Chartwells. Kate ensures the daily administration run smoothly for Chartwells at both Niagara College locations.

Kate strives to provide excellence in all avenues of her role and enjoys promoting healthy and nutritious food options. She is passionate about providing excellent service and positive guest satisfaction Niagara College.

Alyssa has been in the Food Service industry since 2005 and commits to constant growth and the excitement of change. Alyssa is responsible for upholding the effective, notable performance level, which in return leads to the achievement of high quality outcomes she expects. She strives and focuses on maintaining a positive and balanced working environment for all her staff, here at Chartwells.

Alyssa’s childhood was spent growing up in the kitchen of a family-owned restaurant, alongside her Nonna. She was her inspiration in the kitchen and taught her how to make the perfect pasta sauce. In her leisure time, Alyssa is a devoted soccer Mom.

Lynn has worked in the Food Service Industry for 8 years before becoming a Graphic Designer and Art Director.

She joined Chartwells in 2013 and is very proud of her role in the Business Excellence program. Lynn enjoys adding her creative touch to all things in the Front of the House. 

She focuses on giving every Chartwells guest a great customer service experience here at Niagara College. Lynn loves to spend her time at home with her family and everyone's friend Jake, her Golden Retriever.

Esther Zantingh

Manager in Training (MIT)

Esther is one of the fortunate 17 individuals selected to complete the new Manager In Training (MIT) Program. She recently graduated from the University of Guelph, where she earned a degree in Applied Human Nutrition. She has worked in customer service and food service from a young age and is passionate about giving the customers the best meal experience possible.

She will be learning from the amazing Chartwells Niagara team for the next few months, where she will be prepared to, one day, make a positive contribution to the company as a leader.

Kaitlyn Knapp-Blezius

Chef, NOTL Campus

Kaitlyn was born and raised on the East Coast of Canada, she grew up surrounded by all the food and flavors the ocean and small town lifestyle had to offer. This immersive up bringing sparked a passion for food which prompted her to attend the Culinary Institute of Canada in Prince Edward Island where she became educated in both hospitality management and the culinary arts. Following her graduation she travelled the country for ten years working in both areas until finally joining the Chartwells team in August of 2018. She looks forward to providing healthy and interesting dining options to all the customers of Chartwells.
